AI-native software engineering
A desktop development environment where specialist agents plan, write, review, security-check and test each change, and an engineer decides what is applied.
For software engineers and engineering teams
Codira, Inc. is an artificial intelligence research and development company. We advance the architecture of intelligent systems and turn original technology into commercial software.
Our work rests on one conviction: the future of AI will be shaped not only by more capable models, but by the systems that coordinate them, govern how they run, verify their work and let people use them with confidence. We develop proprietary orchestration and verification technology that brings specialized intelligence into structured, accountable professional workflows.
That foundation supports a growing portfolio of applications for software engineering, legal services and corporate communications, with other professions in view. Codira works where original research, advanced engineering, intellectual property and commercial innovation meet, and its long-term value lies in the technology beneath any single product.
We advance the engineering of intelligent systems by developing proprietary technology that coordinates AI, introduces structured verification and preserves meaningful human oversight. AI can greatly expand what people and organizations accomplish, but realizing that takes more than connecting a language model to an application: it takes careful architecture, rigorous engineering, specialized intelligence and mechanisms that keep complex work within defined requirements.
Not to remove human expertise from complex decisions, but to amplify it.
We see AI becoming a foundational part of professional software, not an added feature or a chat window. Intelligent applications will coordinate specialists, understand ongoing work, manage connected responsibilities, evaluate results against defined requirements and work alongside people throughout complex processes.
We are building the orchestration architecture for that future: one foundation, separated from each product’s domain requirements, that can support an expanding ecosystem of specialized applications and continued research, invention and commercialization.
Codira began with an ambitious objective: rethink how software is built in an era of increasingly capable AI. Building a meaningful AI-native development environment raised problems far beyond code generation.
How should complex objectives be decomposed? How should specialist agents collaborate, changes be reviewed and requirements be enforced, while developers keep control of increasingly automated work? Answering those questions produced a broader orchestration architecture.
As it matured, we saw that the same principles applied well beyond programming. Legal professionals coordinate evidence, research, documents, deadlines and strategy; communications teams manage information, editorial processes, approvals and publication. That recognition turned Codira from the developer of one application into a multi-product research and development company.
Foundational invention, connected to practical products.
Many companies are adding AI to existing products. We approach it from the other direction, building the systems that decide how AI capabilities are organized, coordinated, controlled and evaluated within complex workflows.
Integrating a model
Engineering the system
At the centre of our research and commercial strategy is our AI orchestration architecture: multi-agent coordination, workflow management, deterministic verification, context and state, model interoperability and human oversight. They are not separate features bolted together but connected engineering disciplines.
Language models are good at interpretation, reasoning, generation and analysis; deterministic systems are good at enforcing explicit requirements and controlling defined processes. Combining them makes applications more structured, transparent and accountable than unconstrained model output.
Explore Our TechnologyThree applications for three professions, sharing one philosophy: intelligent capabilities should work inside structured systems that support professional judgment, defined requirements and accountable execution.

A communications platform where agents draft and check releases, rules in code block unsupported figures and unapproved quotes, and a person approves what goes out.

Research and development are central to who we are. We investigate multi-agent orchestration, workflow execution, deterministic governance, verification, context management and human-AI collaboration, aiming for original approaches that can be built, evaluated, refined and extended across applications.
Codira has filed nine provisional patent applications associated with aspects of its technology, as part of a broader strategy of research, engineering and commercialization. Provisional applications are not issued patents. Alongside them sit proprietary architecture, engineering expertise and continued research: lasting value that doesn’t rest solely on external model providers.

Our growth rests on the relationship between foundational technology and specialized applications. Research and engineering build capabilities that serve several professions; each product adds the functionality, integrations, workflows and safeguards its market needs, so one advance can improve more than one application.
As we grow, we intend to keep investing in the orchestration architecture, expand our intellectual property and evaluate further industries where the technology can create real value. The aim is a durable technology company: a portfolio of applications on a common foundation of proprietary research and engineering.
Advanced AI is developed and brought to market best with complementary expertise, industry knowledge and shared objectives. We'd like to hear from organizations and people whose work meets ours.
The next generation of intelligent applications will depend on architectures that coordinate specialized intelligence, manage complex execution, verify defined requirements and keep people accountable. Through research, invention, disciplined engineering and real products, Codira is building that foundation, for many industries and for the advances still to come.
